Why “Lower-Cost” Can Become Expensive
Budget cabinets from Miri, Taobao, or flat-pack imports fail in Brunei’s 80–90% humidity within 3–5 years. When they do, you pay again — not just for new cabinets, but for demolition, disposal, plumbing disconnection, countertop removal, and reinstallation. Each replacement cycle costs more than just the cabinets.

What to Ask When Comparing Proposals
Instead of “which proposal is lowest-cost?”, ask:
- What board do you use, and is it ENF-certified? Caramella uses ENF-grade plywood (<0.010 mg/m³ formaldehyde — lab verified). If they can’t answer, that’s your answer.
- What’s the edge banding method? Cold-press fails in 1–2 years. EVA hot-melt or PUR lasts decades.
- What hardware brand? Blum, Hettich, or branded runners with coating — not “soft-close” without a name.
- What’s the realistic lifespan in a Brunei wet kitchen? If they hesitate, they know it won’t last.
- What does your warranty cover? Our standard is a 1-year universal hardware warranty backed by our local team. Be wary of 'lifetime' claims that are difficult to claim locally.
