Architectural Joinery Case Study

Riverfront Defense

Built to survive extreme 85%+ relative humidity near the Brunei river. Total moisture isolation.

The Challenge

Corrosive Atmospheric Moisture

High-value real estate fundamentally compromised by aggressive atmospheric moisture. Legacy particleboard installations had failed structurally due to saline and humidity exposure from the Brunei River. The client mandated absolute structural permanence and zero-formaldehyde (ENF) materials to ensure pediatric air quality.

Location

Kota Batu / Riverfront

Environment

85%+ Humidity / Salty Air

Material

ENF Grade Solid Plywood

Detail of luxury joinery

Zero-HCHO Core

We abandoned standard MDF and particleboard. ENF Plywood provides superior structural resistance to moisture and meets the highest safety testing globally for zero formaldehyde emissions.

  • — 100% Core Plywood
  • — No Particleboard
  • — Pediatric Safe

Engineering Defense

190°C EVA Sealing

Humidity ruins cabinets through tiny gaps in edge banding. Using EVA hot-melt glue at 190°C permanently fuses the PVC edge to the panel core, locking out moisture.

Raised Plinth Clearance

100mm adjustable ABS cabinet legs keep the wooden carcass off wet floor areas during mopping and minor spills, reducing moisture wicking at the base.

Zero-Porosity Surfaces

The Quartz countertop is completely non-porous, meaning water, oil, and humidity cannot penetrate it. A significant upgrade over laminates.
