Commercial cabinetry guide
Retail & F&B Cabinetry Planning
Quick Answer
Prepare a cabinetry brief around the measured space, intended use, equipment schedule and service locations. Confirm the boundaries between cabinetry and the other fit-out work in writing.
Prepare the project brief
- Describe the retail or food-service operation and the areas that need counters, display or storage.
- Provide available plans, site measurements, fixed services and access constraints.
- List equipment models and the installation information supplied by their manufacturers.
- Identify the finishes, handles, internal fittings and accessories to be considered.
- Record site access, delivery arrangements and any landlord or project-team requirements.
Define the cabinetry scope
Ask the written quotation to identify cabinet units, materials, finishes, countertop scope, hardware and internal fittings. Caramella's standard carcass is ENF plywood unless another material is agreed, with PUR edge sealing. Kitchen countertops are quartz stone. These details describe the selected specification; they are not a guarantee of waterproofing, regulatory approval or operating performance.
Coordinate with the project team
- Use one current plan showing cabinet locations, equipment and service points.
- Confirm which party is responsible for equipment supply, electrical and plumbing connections, drainage, ventilation, fire systems, approvals and any structural work.
- Review cabinet access, clearances and equipment requirements with the relevant suppliers and project professionals.
- Record approved substitutions and drawing changes before fabrication.
- Agree the site-readiness and delivery sequence with the project lead.
Before production drawings are approved
Check the measured layout, cabinet schedule, selected finish, accessory model, inclusions, exclusions and quotation. Caramella's typical production lead time is 10–14 weeks from confirmation and the customer's approval of the production drawings; the total project sequence depends on the written scope and site conditions.

Scope note: This guide does not set opening dates, service-level targets, inspection pass rates or regulatory requirements. Confirm project-specific engineering, approvals and fit-out responsibilities with the people responsible for those works.
